Olivia's First Birthday Party

This weekend we celebrated Olivia's first birthday.  I have been planning a lady bug themed birthday for over six months, yes, six months.  Apparently when you have a child, you become this crazy birthday party planner (or monster, as I am certain my husband thought I had turned into one).  I previously planned events for a living so you can imagine how much I labored over this event over the past (several) months and then, in just a few hours, it was all over.

I cannot believe that my little teeny tiny baby is now (or soon to be on the 18th) a one year old.  Where does the time go?  Recently my friend and I were discussing when I first started giving Olivia puffs or a type of food and for the life of me I couldn't remember.  When I was pregnant I thought I would not forget a minute of her life, how could I?  But truth be told, I cannot remember the little details of how I handled every new thing Olivia was doing from diapers to naps to toys, the details have gotten lost as each new development with Olivia occurred.

I think this is God's plan to keep the world populated, otherwise, women would not have a 2nd or 3rd child (or more!).  I remember having labor pains, but I don't exactly remember what it felt like.  I remember getting up in the middle of the night to nurse Olivia, but I don't really remember the exact emotion I felt while I did it (though, I can imagine it was that I was really TIRED).  I am very afraid that one day I will wake up and she will be 18 and on her way to college.  It seems like the days fly by and with each one a change in each thing that she does.  For Olivia's next year I want to focus on her but also the little things.  I want to try to remember the details so I can remember how we got to where we are now.  For now, I will cherish her in her adorable lady bug dress and the amazing time we spent with our dear friends and family.
